Vacuum Cleaners – New Energy Efficiency Regulations
From 1 September, 2014, most upright and cylinder vacuum cleaners must comply with EU eco-design and energy labelling regulations.

From 1 September, 2017 - Upright and cylinder vacuum cleaners must comply with EU energy labelling regulations to reduce the maximum wattage from 1600w to 900w which are manufactured and sold in the EU. It also introduces new restrictions on how noisy vacuum cleaners can be, limiting them to 80dB.
